We do not allow smoking in areas other than the designed smoking areas.
DOGS AND OTHER PETS
Due to the Norwegian Food Safety Authority (FSA) legislation, in terms of contagious hazards, it is not allowed to bring any kind of animals into the visiting area of the park. Please remember to not leave your dog in the car while the sun is shining. Place your dog in the shade, under a tree (near the parking area) with a bowl of water. If you forgot to bring your own, you can rent a dog crate and borrow a water bowl from the service building. Fresh water is available from an outside tap.
SPEND SOME TIME IN THE PARK
The park is one of the world's largest in terms of available surface per animal: 1 100 dekar (1 dekar = 1000 square meters). Our animals do not stay in small cages - so although most of them are very social and curious they may also take the opportunity to hide in nature. If you are prepared to spend some time in the park it is more likely that you will get to see them all. The landscape around the park is amazing. You are welcome to walk several laps, sit down for a rest, use your camera, study the animals, have a romantic picnic or a meal in the restaurant - enjoy!
BATHING AT YOUR OWN RISK
The water in the Salangsdalen river is refreshing on hot days. Enjoy the nicest, cleanest, coldest water. The park has no lifeguard services, so take care!
